See, that is the kind of mood that you are in when you're exercising regularly. Every sentence ends in an exclamation point! And a smiley face. :-) You are proud of yourself. You feel better about yourself. I hear it's something about endorphins, but I think it's just because I am awesome. ;-)
Today is Tuesday. I am on call for work tonight, which means I could get paged at any moment & have to go in to the hospital. Or not. You never know. I really dislike being on call. It causes anxiety & gives me excuses to not work out. I am concerned if I go for a run, I'll get paged when I'm 2 miles from home & it will take me too long to run back & shower & get to work. Or if I start a video, I will only get to do half of it, so what is the point? Sometimes I just sit at home being mopey & watching TV.
Not tonight.
Nope. Tonight I went rollerskating. Yes, I said rollerskating. Mock me if you will (you know who you are Liz W.), BUT I think rollerskating is a GREAT workout! I could definitely feel it in my legs & there was a ridiculous amount of sweat dripping off of me.
Did you know that wearing hot pink lipstick & a pink flower in your hair makes you a better skater? True story.
I wasn't always a believer, mind you. I used to be the mock-er, not the mock-ee. My coworker goes to adult rollerskating night almost every Tuesday night. I will admit, I joined in with the others in laughter when they would mock him for this silly routine. He loves it and tells people how much fun it is. He used to always ask if I'd like to join him, and I would always decline and roll my eyes. Then one night, I said, "What the heck....why not?" And you know what? It was FUN. Like little-kid-without-a-care-in-the-world FUN. And--bonus--I didn't fall once! My legs let me know the following day that it was a workout, so I returned. I don't go every week...maybe once a month. It makes you feel young & silly & they play some awesome music that I haven't heard in years. They also play some terrible music that I haven't heard in years. But that's okay, because it makes me laugh & laughing is a wonderful thing. Especially laughing while exercising. :)
Last night's workout was amazing, too. Susan (my Monday night workout buddy) & I deviated from our routine. We've been doing boxing at 7:15 on Monday nights. Last night we decided to do something different & a little earlier, so we hit the "Total Cycle" class. I'd been to the regular cycle class & it kicked my butt...and made my butt sore for days, because that is what cycling does. Anyway, the Total Cycle class is basically a regular cycle class, except they add some hand weights, so while your legs are going round and round, you are doing different arm exercises with a hand weight. It sounds kind of like patting your head while rubbing your tummy, but I promise it is not that challenging. I did it just fine, and I am not very coordinated. I will be back to that class--for sure! The instructor is amazing. He is an Ironman, which sounds a little scary & intimidating, but he is completely the opposite of that. He is supportive & funny while being tough & persistent. After the class, he came over & thanked us for joining and asked what we thought, and said he hoped we would return. THAT is a great instructor. I will definitely be back. Maybe with some padded shorts & a padded seat. Ow.
PS-It is a 60 minute class. Apparently that was not enough for our trainer. Luckily, he is nice & funny or I would have called him out 4:50 before he finished with us. (See pic)
So, I told you I would get back on track, and it worked. I told you that so that I would be forced to do it. I am not a liar. I won't tell you I worked out when I haven't. If I tell you I will, I will. That is great motivation for me.
That being said, I just wanted to let y'all know I would be working out every day this week. Yep. I pledge at least 45 minutes of some form of exercise every day. I will post about it, because it puts me in a good mood & when I'm in a good mood, I want to share it. Hope your week is going as well as mine. Thanks for reading & being my motivation. :)

Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to
